Life Story

A Life of Faith, Family, and Service

Early Life and Heritage

Eddie Wynn, Sr. was born on September 12, 1944, in Shubuta, Mississippi, located in Clarke County. He was the son of Charlie Wynn and Lillie Hicks Wynn. Eddie grew up in a large family and was the youngest among several siblings. Over time, he would experience the loss of each of them, as five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Raised in the rural communities of Clarke and Newton counties, Eddie grew up in an environment where family ties, faith, and hard work formed the foundation of daily life.

Marriage and Family Life

On his twentieth birthday, September 12, 1964, Eddie entered into holy matrimony with Lillie L. Beamon, the daughter of Henry Beamon and Minnie Lee Williams Beamon. Their marriage became a remarkable example of lifelong devotion, lasting sixty years.

Together, Eddie and Lillie built their home and family in the Lawrence and Newton communities of Newton County, Mississippi. Over the years they lived on Greenie Morrow Road and Newton Conehatta Road, where they remained surrounded by family and friends.

Their union was blessed with two children:

  • Marilyn D. Wynn
  • Eddie Wynn, Jr.

Faith and Service

Faith was an important part of Eddie’s life. He became a member of St. Cloud Missionary Baptist Church in 2006 under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Arrington.

However, Eddie’s connection to the church extended long before his official membership. During the pastorate of Rev. Robert Moncrief, Eddie became known throughout the church community for his willingness to serve wherever needed.

He was especially remembered for his skills in cooking and barbecuing, often preparing meals for church gatherings and events. Through these acts of service, Eddie contributed to the fellowship and spirit of the congregation, bringing people together around both food and faith.
