Birth & Family
The infant son of Frank Wesley (1878–1953) and Cornelia Evans Wesley (c.1884–1923) was stillborn on May 25, 1913, in Newton County, Mississippi. He was a member of the Evans and Wesley families, two long-standing lineages whose roots run deep in the Newton County community.
His birth was attended by Iley Jane Evans, who served as both the informant and the midwife on the death certificate—a reflection of the trusted role she held within the Evans settlement during that time.
Death
The child was stillborn, and no physician was present. Such losses were devastatingly common in early 20th-century rural Mississippi, when families relied heavily on midwives and had limited access to medical care.
Burial
The place of burial was not listed on the death certificate. However, given the burial locations of his mother Cornelia and other members of the Evans–Wesley family, it is assumed that the infant was laid to rest in the Evans Cemetery.
