Early Life and Family

Rev. Michael Chapman was born on April 11, 1938, to Mason Chapman (1885–1964) and Lillie Mae Sorey Chapman (1900–1994). He was raised within the Chapman family, a lineage deeply rooted in the history and membership of Saint John Missionary Baptist Church in Newton County, Mississippi.


Marriage and Family

Michael Chapman married Dianne Chapman. One known son from this union is Dr. Erick Cook.


Ministry and Later Years

Known as Reverend Michael Chapman, he devoted his life to faith and service, continuing the strong tradition of church leadership and involvement established by earlier generations of the Chapman family.


Death and Burial

Rev. Michael Chapman passed away on November 9, 2009. He was laid to rest at Saint John Missionary Baptist Church graveyard, joining many members of his extended family who are interred there.
