Early Life and Family

Fred Edward May was born on October 6, 1946, in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, to Albert May (1903–?) and Lura D. May (born 1922). He later became a resident of Newton County, where he established his adult life and community ties.


Marriage and Family

Fred Edward May married Ora Dee Chapman May (1940–2019). Through this marriage, he became stepfather to her children from a previous union:

Employment and Community Life

Fred May was employed at Newton Hospital (Rush Hospital/Newton) for approximately sixteen years. His work history included housekeeping duties for twelve years, followed by service in the nursing department for the final four years of his employment.
